Adjuvants

Adjuvants are substances added to pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers to enhance their effectiveness, stability, and application efficiency without having any pesticidal effect themselves. They include surfactants, stickers, spreaders, wetting agents, penetrants, oils, and buffers that improve spray coverage, adhesion to leaves, absorption, and rainfastness, reduce drift, and ensure uniform distribution.

By modifying the physical or chemical properties of sprays, adjuvants help pesticides or nutrients work more efficiently, reduce wastage, lower required doses, and increase crop protection and yield, making them an important tool in modern agriculture.
